Testimonials
Here at FoneAid we're not one to blow our own trumpet—there's
no need as there's plenty of you doing it for us!
We've received many comments telling us how fantastic the campaign is
so we thought we'd share them with you—just in case you hadn't
figured it out for yourselves yet!
Izzy Parr, Store and New Goods Manager, Highland Hospice
"Well I didn't really know where to start when I wanted to check out
the best deal in mobile phone recycling but I got on the net and I
started trawling. I quickly had it down to three and they all seemed
like possibilities. I was drawn to Foneaid primarily because of the
simplicity of their web site and the deal they were offering but I
contacted them all. Within ten minutes of sending my email enquiry
one of their excellent customer service staff had phoned and started
to take me through the process personally. I was impressed. I decided
to go with them and I have already received my first cheque and the
campaign continues. And the other two companies I contacted—still
waiting for a reply!"
Julie Jackson, Biddulph Warriors
"Through collecting mobile phones for our FoneAid campaign, we have managed
to raise enough funds for much needed training equipment and outside
professional coaching. This was our first year in the league and many of the
lads had never played for a team before. We have gone on to top the league
and we are now playing in the semi final of the area cup and are through
to quarter finals of the league cup. The funding from the phones certainly
helped towards this."
John Beck, Chief Executive, Ayrshire Cancer Support
"Ayrshire Cancer Support teamed up with Foneaid about 6 months ago and
we are delighted to be helping the environment as well as raising much
need funds for our charity. Getting started was easy and we found the
staff at Foneaid to be very helpful even suggesting ways in which we
could maximize our campaign. Sending our mobiles away couldn't be
easier, we make one telephone call, the carrier arrives at a pre-arranged
time and the money for the mobiles arrives a few weeks later. Simple
as that."
Deniece Dobson, Strategic Manager, YMCA Luton Projects, Luton
"The campaign is great as it involves the one thing that has become
an essential part of youth culture, the mobile phone! Therefore, it
appeals to young people to be involved in raising money. It's a
fantastic Campaign for both adults and young people to contribute
together!"
Andy Kershaw, Broadcaster & Journalist, CSV Action Desk Presenter,
BBC Radio Sheffield.
"Foneaid is a good way to raise funds and raise your profile at the
same time. It's a 'win-win' situation for CSV as a way supporting
Britain's favourite volunteering charity and an environmentally friendly
way of recycling unwanted but perfectly functional phones".
Jamie Wassell, 24, Billingham UK
"I started fundraising about 6 months ago; in that time I have completed
a half marathon, various car boot sales and sporting events. The funds
are getting donated to Cancer Research UK; I chose this charity as
several members of my family have died due to the disease. It's only
been a recent commitment to the charity as I am 24 and have been in
full time education, which ended this year.
I needed further ideas to reach my target, in order to take part in the
Great Wall of China Trek organised by the charity. Searching the internet
I came across the Fones4School campaign, they introduced me to the new
FoneAid service. This offers individuals or companies the chance to raise
funds for their own organisation, along with the chance to support the
protection of the environment. The campaign has offered me £3 per phone
I send their way, plus a £100 voucher for every 100 phones that are donated.
The staff of the campaign have been very helpful to me, indicating that
any support would be made available, in order to make the fundraising an
easy and enjoyable experience.
The FoneAid campaign has definitely helped me on my way, to achieving my
goals."
Jef Tyler, Sales Manager, Macclesfield Town FC
"Macclesfield Town are delighted to announce that we have joined FoneAid
to raise money for the club. We feel this is a fantastic joint venture and
one that we would recommend to any and all clubs as a way of raising
incremental revenue by getting the community and supporters to help by
simply handing in to the club old and unwanted mobile phones of any age
and condition Foneaid have been very successful in implementing this venture
in schools locally and indeed around the country and Macclesfield Town are
delighted to be the first of many football clubs to participate
Tim Ovenden, Kingdown Community College
"The School Council initiated the idea of collecting phones as they recognized
how many students replaced their phones as a fashion decision - initially we
wondered what we could do with them - and that is how FoneAid came to our
attention. FoneAid have been brilliant from start to finish. The initial
contact led to some helpful advice and a bag of goodies to start the collection
off. Regular phone calls from FoneAid allowed us to stay in touch and the
phones were collected promptly. We would be more than happy to work with them
again"
Andrew Spivey, The Salvation Army
"We, the Salvation Army at Barnsley, are very grateful for the contact
we have had with FoneAid, and the opportunity to dispose of old mobile
phones and ink cartridges in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
This has not only benefited the environment, but has been a great fund
raiser for our organization too."
