Shell's Belles proves a help to the whole community
« Back to News
Shell's Belles Cheer Group, which launched in November 2004 is now becoming so successful
that it is a help to the whole community.
In 2007, Shell's Belles was able to offer two unemployed Brierfield community members
full-time employment and they are set to give two school leavers apprenticeships in
September this year.
Shell's Belles, who have recently expanded their own building to host their cheer classes,
are increasing their activities to also include dance, fitness and sports. This means
they will be able to give even more local children a healthy activity to undertake out
side of school hours.
Shell's Belles, who have nearly collected 200 phones through their FoneAid campaign have
used the money they have raised so far to help furnish their new building. FoneAid has
enabled them to afford an outside banner to advise the local community of their location,
a till and a fridge.
Michelle from Shell's Belles adds: 'FoneAid has made a real difference to a small group like us'
