Our Environmental Policy
« Back to About Us
For those of you who want a bit more information on the company
and our policy we included the following information. Don't worry
- you don't need to get your head around the following to raise
funds but it will certainly give you a better insight into
the company!
Eazyfone Group is a leader in the recycling and reuse of old
mobile phones and works to substantially reduce the numbers that
are sent to landfill sites. As mobile phones and their batteries
contain several dangerous metals, including lead, cadmium, lithium
and mercury, recycling or reuse helps protect the environment and
save natural resources.
Our environmental policies are at the core of our business
strategy and we aim to reduce our impact on the environment.

The Eazyfone Group Commitment
-
Full compliance with all applicable legislation.
-
Continual improvement of our environmental performance, in
line with the WEEE directive and our ISO14001 status.
-
Minimising the risk to employees, the public and the
environment from toxic material.
Our recycling and reuse campaigns divert old mobile phones away
from landfill sites, thereby preventing toxic build up.
Mobile Phones, chargers and batteries collected this way,
are graded and then recycled and reused or broken down for
reuse of parts in other electronic products.
Eazyfone Group, fully certified by ISOQAR to the internationally
recognised ISO 14001 standard employs stringent Environmental
Management Systems to provide an alternative to disposal into
landfill sites and employs all possible means to minimise impact
on the environment.
We also take pride in our "open-book policy", whereby our environmental
performance and objectives are available for viewing at anytime.
The WEEE Directive
We fully comply with all requirements outlined for the WEEE
Directive, which is expected to come into effect in 2007. WEEE
refers to the collection, management and safe disposal of
electrical and electronic equipment, including mobile phones
and is forcing major changes in the way electronic waste, such
as mobile phones, is classified and handled.
Eazyfone Group is able to offer its expertise and support to
organisations seeking to set themselves up to comply with all
likely WEEE Directive requirements before the Directive takes
force.
We also meet the strategic waste reuse and recycling aims of
local authorities, hold waste transport licences and work closely
with clients, suppliers and business partners.
